On Friday 29th September, we had the pleasure of assisting SOS Leak Detection & Prevention and Safeline Environmental with their I Love Golf Event, fundraising for the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity.
At the beautiful Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel and Country Club, on the Arden Championship course, the teams had a fantastic day of golf, with some on-course entertainment too with a Mexican themed Beat the Pro competition hosted by the lovely Hannah Bowen PGA Professional Golfer. Sombreros on and in high spirits, our guests did their best, however, no one managed to beat our Pro, their generosity on the tee though raised an amazing amount of money for the charity!
After golf was a rather jolly affair with lots of networking. Name badges on and tables filled up with 170 guests for the evening’s entertainment hosted by the fabulous Aaron James. The evening began with an account of a SOS Leak Detection & Prevention and Safeline Environmental colleague’s mountain survival experience, which received a standing ovation.
Aaron then kicked off the evening entertainment with a game of Heads and Tails then our live auction. Among the prizes were exclusive access at Cheltenham Races as well as Manchester United v Manchester City executive seat tickets, and Rugby World Cup tickets.
Our Event Administrator, Claire Hyslop gave a short introduction to the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity. The frightening statistic of two constructions workers committing suicide every day was a shock to everybody and some quiet contemplation was had. This only emphasised how vital the funds raised throughout the event were and how they will directly impact the workers and their families across the UK and ROI.
An amazing day was had by all! We would like to say a massive thank-you to all who participated on the day and attended the evening meal; those who took part in the on-course activities, purchased multiple raffle tickets, bid in the auctions, and donated both their time and money to make the day such a success, raising a tremendous amount of money for the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity!
Finally a special thanks to Safeline and SOS for their hard work and support putting on this event, especially Steve, Brad and Dawn and the team!
