Members of the British and Irish Trading Alliance (BITA Ltd) recently came together for their annual BITA Geberit Golf Masters competition and raised £1,500 for our charity.
Following the national lockdown period, some 22 teams were excited to take part in the yearly event – which took place at Foxhills Golf Course in Surrey and featured entertainment by comedian Russ Wiliams.
A BITA spokesperson said;
“This year has been very difficult on us all, so it was a breath of fresh air to meet up (socially distanced of course) and have a day full of laughter with great company. Although masks and temperature checks were required, everyone was in excellent spirits, and we made it a day to remember,”
A fiercely fought golf competition, the overall winners were the team from Duncan’s Carpentry and Metro Bank, with CCP and Sigma bagging second place and Artel Scaffolding in third.
The 2020 event also saw a new trophy presented in honour of one of the first BITA members, Jim Whiteside, who sadly passed away at the beginning of the year.
The Jim Whiteside Memorial Trophy for the longest drive went to Tommy Heartshorn from the Kerry London team and was presented by Oscar Whiteside.
